Lynn Ables, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Lynn M. Ables has been practicing pediatrics since 1988 and joined the Wheaton Pediatrics team in 2003. She attended Northwestern University Medical School after receiving a degree in Biology with honors at the University of Illinois. Dr. Ables completed her residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and continued to work in the emergency room there and in the neonatal unit at Evanston Hospital. She then became a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, working as the pediatrician on the Hopi Indian Reservation. After volunteering in India and Mexico for two years, Dr. Ables returned to the Chicago area and joined Loyola University as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. During that time, she taught medical students, practiced clinical medicine, and also worked in the Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic at the DuPage County Health Department. Dr. Ables’ professional interests include newborns, breastfeeding, child development and behavior, adolescent medicine, dermatology, infectious diseases and international medicine. She is a board-certified pediatrician, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Ables lives in Winfield with her family of five children, including two sets of twins. She enjoys swimming, biking, camping, gardening and collecting fossils with her children.
