Peter Liber, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Peter I. Liber has been practicing pediatrics since he founded Wheaton Pediatrics in 1987. A native of Gary, Indiana, Dr. Liber earned his Biology degree, with honors, at the University of Chicago. He received his M.D. from Indiana University in 1984, and completed his residency at Childrens Memorial Hospital in Chicago in 1987. He is an Instructor in Pediatrics in the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, who also speaks Ukrainian and welcomes the opportunity to care for Ukrainian-speaking patients. His other professional interests include caring for children with asthma, ADHD and internationally adopted children and their families, for whom he can offer pre-adoption counseling. He has traveled to Guatemala and volunteered with Timmy Global Health, an organization that helps deliver medical care to underserved communities.  Dr. Liber is board certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 2008,2010,2012, and 2014 Chicago Magazine named Dr. Liber to its prestigious list of 'Top Docs'the only DuPage County pediatrician on the list. He has been active in the Lurie Children's Hospital Medical Staff leadership for several years.  In January 2015, Dr. Liber will begin his two year tenure as President of Lurie Children's Hospital Medical Staff.  Dr. Liber lives in Wheaton with his wife and four children (including twins), and he enjoys playing basketball, traveling with his family and walking his family dog, Charlie Brown.
